The Results Of Taking Off o2 Sensors
Well not too long ago i had the exhast changed from the stock H-pipe to a no Cat Mac H-pipe and then got Mac Long Tube Headers. After that i was having major problems. Engine backfiring, major hesitation, and just all around car was ****. I went threw hell to find out what was the problem. Changed Fuel Filter, Put in like 20 bucks worth of fuel injector cleaner, took it to the shop they put new vaccuum lines for under the intake manifold. I brang it home changed throttle sensor, GHR valve and just i was stumped. So a few days later i thought of just unplugging the o2 sensors but keeping them in the pipes. BINGO!!! It works great now. Is the a bad thing or does this type of thing happen more often with 1988 GT?
Thanks

RE: The Results Of Taking Off o2 Sensors
I was thinking about doing this as well, ditching my o2 sensors.
Just forgot to ask it on the boards if it would be ok.
I'm running BBK LT's to a Shorty offroad X
So it's not like im using em, I don't think...

Maybe you should have disconnected the battery for a few minutes to reset the computer after the pipes were changed. I would try this and then plug the O2 sensors back on as you do need them to operate most efficiently below WOT in most cases.
