I have a 96 F-150 and I was coming home from school. I am in Nebraska and I had on my high school football jersey because we had a game that night, and of course I drive by a cop, going the speed limit and she turns around in a driveway and pulls me over right in front of my brother's elementry school. She asked why I thought she pulled me over and I said I didn't know, so she told me I had to have a plate. I told her I took it off to polish the bumper behind it and never got it back on. She let me off because I was polite, but did give me a written warning. I just zip tied it on until I left the station when I turned in the ticket, and cut it off when I got home.

In NJ you have to have a front LP. I had mine in my window under the vin, etc. and I got harassed like 4 times in one week so I finally just put it on... I zipped tied it on there though instead of screwing holes in my front bumper. You actually cannot even tell that its ziptied either.

you will if you drive thru downtown los angeles. i got 1 about 4 years ago. i have better things to do than to be pulled over for something so minimal & silly, so i just leave it on. i've also read that people will get tickets when they are parked liked at airports, libraries, etc.
