Radiator flush. And more!
Ok tonight I decided to flush out my radiator. I pulled the hoses and flushed out the fluid. Pulled out the radiator. I want to clean it with something like a solvent or whatever. Does anyone know of a process that cleans out radiators with a solution of water + something? Can I just stick a hose in one end and flush out whatever is in there? Will liquid plumber work? lol.
Anyway that was the first part of the post.
Second part is what the hell is this little spring thingy on the end of the radiator fan AND does my distributor cap and rotor need to be changed? TIA.

RE: Radiator flush. And more!
that springy thing on the fan is the fan clutch...when its cold the fan spins freely/loosly....as the radiator gets warmer the clutch gets stiffer and makes the fan spin faster thus cooling the radiator....
