Found a Car!!
I have been looking for a mid 80s fox body to restore for only about 10 days and my wife already found one for me. Its a 1988 black GT vert. The said it ran "okay" and the body looks like ****.lol It needs a new top and the interior is trashed. It looks like I will have some work to do when I get back from Kuwait. Thats okay though, its exactly what I was looking for....something to keep me busy. My only dilema is......I have been saving up some cash to put a blower on my vette (2004 C5) and I have enough to do it. Should I drop the $6500 on the blower and finish the vette or should I put that $6500 into the Mustang and get her fixed up quick? How far do you think I can get with $6500. I need to do EVERYTHING. Rebuild the engine, paint/body work, and interior. I think If I look for good deals I can get it all done with close to what I have saved up. On the other hand a 11 second vette sounds bad *** too.

Good deal. I'd put the 6500 into the stang personally. I'm sure the vette is nice as it sits. why not make another nice car ?
YOu can get a pretty good headstart with 6500. I'd do the motor first, then go to the body. I'd prolly do paint last, but thats just how i think. Just my .02

6500 won't get you anywhere on a Mustang. This is comin from somebody who's doin it. Restored an 87 GT, in the paint booth right now (after 2 years of work might I add) and I've got probably 5000 into it right now, before paint. Add another 6 or 7 for paint, roughly 12000 into the car and it still isn't ready to drive away yet.

Well...I think I'm going to do the interior of the Mustang first. I can spend a few months doing that and I dont have to take it anywhere for the work to be done. I just have to remove the seats to have them covered in leather. I can install all new interior panels and new seals in my garage. After the interior I think I will have the body work done and have the car primered. Then then fun part....the drive train I'm pretty sure a new top for the car is going to be pretty expencive but I'll have to research it.
The vette is pretty snappy how it sits now so I think I'm just going to leave it. I already put LT headers, CAI, 4:11 gears, and a short through shifter on it. I ran a 12.59 at 110 MPH with it this summer. I think thats good enough for a while. My wife drives the vette a lot and I think if I add another 150 HP she might get scared of it and I dont want that to happen.
Does anybody know of any good shops in the Tucson/Phoenix area? I know a bunch of places that work the LS1s but none do the 5.0.

Blow the vette... then work on the Stang over the years... first year motor and drivetrain, second year chasis stiffening and suspension, third year body and paint, fourth year interior and dress up. jmo good luck

Well...I dont want one in good condition. The only reason I got the car is to keep me busy for a while. If its already in good condition then I wont have much to do. When I bought the vette I thought it would keep me busy but most of the work on them has to be dont by a pro. If I want to do anything else to it I need to bring it to a shop to have it done.
