ok, you can take all of it out, just plug the hose if u are gonna leave it in, if u are taking it out then crimp the h pipe where the hose goes to it, ig u look at the h pipe ull see what i mean, ya just rip whatever u want out, it wont hurt anything, what i did was plug the hose, then my smog pump i took off and gutted it and took the fins out inside, so it is virtually nothing more than an idler pulley, i was gonna take it off completely and get a smaller belt, but firs i have to figuire out a way to keep it from hitting the tensioner, hope this helps

Ok, I just recently did this. On the tensioner belt, were it has the spring loaded? pulley, its got a little notch that it locks into to hold it there in place. What you do is, take it off and measure approx. 1/2" to 3/4" up where the hole is and drill a new hole and then place the puller tensioner back in place. This allows the tensioner pulley to raise enough to not hit. Hope this helped out, l8r
