Stanger88,
Thanks for the idea bro, I already threw on an 8.8 rear end and I agree with you. I am only 20 years old and in college and basically emptied my bank account on this car already. I only threw the FR Crate Motor in it cause my friend gave it to me for 500 with 27,000 miles on it, and then threw as many bolt on upgrades I could outta past automotive basic experience, but I don't know where to go on horses or driveline on this on a budget. I wanna spend all I can on this car, but there's no way I can afford another motor, as of now this car's pumping out 270rwhp on the dyno.
OMG GUYS!!! LYNCH HIM!!!! he has a ford racing crate motor with a matched cam and aluminum heads and a lighter tranny and no flex-fan (electric)and he is only making 25whp more than me, OMG!!! OMG!!!! (tranny and electric prolly account for maybe 10-15whp of that so his MOTOR is only making 10-15whp more than mine...tsk tsk.).

Seriously, your combo sounds about right for your hp (just HAD to take a stab back at a few asshats).

EDIT: oh crap, an eleminated AC too!!! wow...my 244whp out of a GT40P headed motor with my cam that you all hate so much and my flex fan and heavy *** TKO500 doesnt sound so "SUB-PAR FOR MY MODS" now does it?! Or are you going to tell him his motor is a pile of **** too?

I bet if I put an electric fan on my car (removing the fixed 17" flex fan...) and had a AC eleminator (short-belt...worth 5whp AT LEAST! according to EVERY dyno I have seen) I would have about 270 as well. NOt bad for iron heads and a mis-matched cam, sorry, im just so STUNNED! at this revelation!!!! HOLY CRAP!!!

(im not cracking on you, just on some asshats that dissed my ride earlier).

It's all good bro, I'm just here to learn and get my stang to it's full potential in memory of my friend. Please somebody tell me how I can add some more power like I started this post in the beginning. I appreciate all your posts more than you know, but I seriously need some help. I've added all the bolt on power I can think of, and I'd even like some ideas on replacing the bolt ons I already have with some more powerful bolt ons. Just please help me, lol. Like I said, I wanna twin turbo it someday as well.

Those are the 2 places I would start, for a tranny, D&D performance is tops.

afr 185 heads will probably be worth 30-40 rwhp over those gt-40x's. 100 shot of nitrous. check your timming too. if it's still at 10* btdc then you could probably bump your timming up to like 14 or 15* btdc and free up a little free power there. bring it somewhere to get it dyno tuned too might be able to squeeze a little more power out of it for you deffanitly. just some stuff to think about.

just a bit of info on the block you are using. They are only good for about 500whp. Then they go boom. Going with a twin turbo would be incrediable but you would have to go with an aftermarket block. Another option is to build a 351. Transmission wise you should look into a G-Force rebuild for your T-5. There are a couple other companies that have some tough trannys. Build your 8.8 with some good quality components with some 3.73 gears. Suspension wise, like was said above, maximum motorsports is the best. You might be better off buying little bits at a time. Up front, a good K-member with tubular a-arms and coilovers. Out back, good coilovers, upper and lower control arms, and get rid of the quad shocks. Hope this helps out at least a little. You car is looking good to. I am also a chevy man at heart with a 74 Z28 at home. Know how you feel.

AFR 185's would kill his low end unless he goes AT LEAST 331 and even then thats a bit big. AFR 165's would be best. Yes, they should be worth 30whp or so more.

easiest thing is going to be nitrous like stated above. A set of either 165 or 185 AFR heads will work. I am sure there is a better intake you could use, I did not see anything about a cam...a custom grind. Basically just do a top of the line, head/cam/intake swap and then put a 150 shot of nitrous on it. Save a little more money for a tubo or supercharger kit. Run that for a while till you can save up money for some forged internals and a stronger block. re-use the heads and turbo/supercharger and just turn the boost up till you are happy.
