RE: dnd motorsports
Problem is you cant find those anymore.
everyone will tell you 2 week delivery for them, but I looked around and EVERYONE
has had them on back order for like 9 months.
One guy told me he didnt think they were being produced anymore.
Look on ebay for Mustang TKO bellhousing too, I saw one on there ..... once..............
I didnt want to mess with SFI bellhousing either, ......... didnt have any choice[&:]

RE: dnd motorsports
old one wont line up with mount holes on new trans.
you can
1. cut the welds holding the stock x-member and slide it back and reweld
or
2. buy the HP Motorsports x-member for $100 and it bolts right in place
fits like a glove.

RE: dnd motorsports
Its pretty phucking complicated.
The McLeod comes with a sticker on it that gives you indexing numbers
then you have to buy the correct offset dowl pins and install those in the block.
then put a dial indicator so that it rotates with crankshaft and you can confirm
the bellhousing is centered with the crankshaft/flywheel.
the trans mounts to the bellhousing so you have to make sure the bellhousing
is aligned PERFECTLY so that the trans is lined up correctly
if not the clutch does not engage right, you get vibration, premature pilot bearing failure.....ect...........
I still dont think we got it right, I'm having issues with my whole install right now.
about to yank it all back out and take up to pro to tear down and reassymble.
Thats why I'm telling you to just take it to a pro and have it done right.

RE: dnd motorsports
A standard bellhousing no you dont.
These SFI bellhousing have LOTS of bolts going ALL the way around the backing
plate and are impossible to get at with engine in.
I guess you could just not install about half the bolts that come with the bellhousing if you wanted to.

RE: dnd motorsports
to keep cost down just pull engine and take it to them.
really not much to pulling your engine out in one piece.
take hood off - make sure you mark it for re-install
take the accessories off
pull the radiator
pull just the upper half of the intake.
leave headers on
and take it out all in one piece.
take engine up to someones shop, have them index the bellhousing and install correct offset dowl pins
then take it home, put it all together and re-install.
you can re-use stock d/s just make sure you mark it back at the axle
so you bolt it back up same way.
diffenantly take d/s up to d/s shop to have yoke installed
pain in the *** getting those u-joints in.
took 10mins and $20 when i took it up there
