AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! SON OF A...........
Yeah so today was wonderful.
I order the aluminum flywheel and stage II centerforce clutch. Also got a new bell housing. The old one cracked when the supercharger blew up. So today is the install. Pull everything apart. Take the tranny out yada yada. Put the new flywheel in. While removing the throw out bearing, I pulled the throw out bearing retaining shaft off. It was broken at the base. i figure it broke when the SC went up. No biggy we have the new one, four bolts later it is fixed. Get everything back together, start the car, and now I have a vibration!!!!!!!!!!
The only thing I can think of is.......the tranny is done. Thinking input shaft. All the gears are fine, but when I push in the clutch and rev the motor the vibration is bad. Does the same thing when it is in gear also.
I don't think it is the flywheel. I installed it correctly and torqued it done in a star pattern. The clutch is new. So do you think the imput shaft just has to much play in it inside the tranny? Yes I can feel it in the shifter.
And no it is on a harmonic balancer.....I replaced it a month ago.

When I had my motor shortblocked and all that they made me give them balancer and flywheel and I noticed that they had balanced both of them together. Maybe theres a difference in the balance somewhere between the 2 or something?

We have done all the eliminations. It is the flywheel. My friend said that the weight is wrong. So tomorrow I will pull everything apart and put the stock flywheel with the CF clutch. We will get it the right weight, and then put that flywheel on the long block that will recieve the turbos.
I have to get the thing done for Sunday. We are going to the test and tune. I am going to be running street tires with a 175 shot. Should be exiciting.

the flywheel is supposed to be a 50 oz balance for a 302 and 28 oz for 351w. you may have the 28 oz or a nuetral balance fly. alot of aluminum flywheels are nuetrally balanced
