Ryan
Ok...some of the advice you're getting is all over the place, off the wall advice. The GT40's are a good, cheap upgrade from the stockers. If you have the $, the Twisted Wedges will run GREAT; especially w/ boost. Blowzilla or turbo is the way to go for a 5.0....

what about these heads ?
Before people start to steer you in the wrong direction... ive been trying to sell those D0OE heads for atleast 2 weeks now. They came of Aaron's (MrPeeps69) fox not too long ago. he upgraded with a fullybuilt motor and afr185cc heads. I tried to convince him to install them on his new 95GT but he'd rather just sell them. These heads are MUCH better than your stock heads, and with a bit of machine work, they cam be made into an exceptional head. the intake valve is commonly replaced with one that is 0.10" larger and will give you quite a performance boost over both cobra heads (gt-40) and explorer heads (gt-40p)

plus you cant beat the price

not sure if those are the gt-40 ps but those are the way to go if your going to go with a cast production 5.0 head, need new headers though
They are NOT GT-40 HEADS.... THEY ARE D0OE HEADS... THE ONES THAT EVERYONE ALWAYS DROOLS OVER

Yes, those are the heads he's is talking about. The look pretty used so if you get them you might want to put all new valves/springs/seals on there.....at least I would. You might be able to get a good deal on them. I wouldn't go up to $400 but if you can grab them for $250 or under that would be perfect.
they are not excessivelt used, they just sat for a while since Aaron pulled his motor out. new England isnt very nice to our cars. The valve springs/seals are all fairly new..

when i say new, i mean less than 5k

personally...i wouldnt mess around with buying cheap stuff right away just to get some quick power.....if you could save some cash and do some research id go with a good set..i mean while your there i wouldnt waste anytime or money.....i went with the AFR 165 and i pick up some good power.....but one thing that you want to take into consideration is that heads will open up and give you more power once you do mods...if your N/A yea you could get like 40-50hp with heads but once you blow that 40-50 will turn into 80-90 ontop of another 120+ depending on blower

before you pick a head you need to think how you want the car to run just putting afr's on and not changing anything else wont really do that much for you i personally would go with a set of gt40p heads you can use alot of the aftermarket headers you just need a 90 deg. boot on both ends of your plug wires and with those heads and a fms f camshaft the car would run great imo i had that set up on a 91 with a carb and it went 12:70's at the track with stock suspension and et street radials good luck with your car
