Default GEARS

Ok so i got an automatic in my 5.0 and im lookin for gears. Now people have been telling me that if i have an automatic and i want to be able to pull decent times at the track i should get 4.10s, but if i were to have a 5 speed i should get 3.73s. has anyone heard of this, oh well if i do go with 4.10s can anyone out there tell me what freeway rpms will be like.

If you check out the search feature you'll find about 100 other threads asking the exact same thing... Definitely want to go with 4.10's with an auto

999 out of 1000 people here will tell you the same thing. auto = 4.10, manual = 3.73.

At least that's wht I think. I'm, not sure because I have never seen another post ask this here before.

+1

even though i have 4.10s with a manual

got a good deal

otherwise woulda got 3.73 for my 5 spd

go with 4.10s you will be happy and still get good gas mileage on highway.

I personally would go with the 373's if you plan on doing some highway driving. Just 2 cents.

If you don't have a stall you should think of getting one. Your car will come alive with some gears and a stall.

If it is your only car and you like to take trips with long drives or do a lot of highway driving stick to the 373's. If it is an occasional driver and you have another car then go with 410's.

^^^ you don't "gain" hp. It will multiply your torque. Instead of your torque rating being multipled by 2.73 it will be multipled by 4.10. Get it
