Default 86 GT to the track today!

Wow everything anyone has ever said is true about taking the stang to the track! I had such an adrenaline rush I could barely keep my legs from shaking. I had no idea about the ticker guy at the turnaround point so I didnt even grab my first runs strip but my second run was:

R/T - .827
60' - 2.364
330 - 6.725
1/8 - 10.448
MPH - 68.41
1000 - 13.559
1/4 - 16.138
MPH - 87.87

third run was:

R/T - .963
60' - 2.494
330 - 6.618
1/8 - 10.039
MPH - 70.54
1000 - 13.037
1/4 - 15.544
MPH - 90.18

I think if I had run at least 1 more I could have gotten even better, as I was just getting used to running the track alltogether. 15 bucks for the runs and all the adrenaline my body could produce! Do you all think this is a good time for a stock stang with 4 different brand tires and just a basic tuneup put into her? (working on the funds to get 4 of the same times on as this is what it came with when i bought it)

pretty good, better tires and some freebie mods could get you into the 14s(and practicing)

Driver mod, timing, air silencer removal, lower air pressure slightly in rear and raise it in front and launch harder, unhook front swaybar and remove spare/all other crap in your car.

Personally I like to run the car as if I were on the street minus the pressure I run in the tires on the street. You need to get the 60 foot times down. When my car was stock I launched at like 15-1700RPM with Kuhmo Ecsta 711 tires and was getting consistent 2.0s, not shabby for street tires and just lowered stock suspension. This year with the 347 Mega bite Jrs. Lakewood drag struts and shocks on the SAME exact tires but launching at 2000 I still got 2.0 60 foots. With drag radials and a higher launch it should go down since I had to launch as if aggresively taking off from a stop light and bogging the engine. Powershifting makes all the difference. Last year when it was stock my very first run I didn't powershift my time was like a 15.1 so I knew I had to do something. Stock it ran 14.601 @ 92, now with the 347 king crap cobra slipping clutch and street tires ran a 12.8 @ 111MPH
