RE: tell me the story on my sparkplug...
Once I had an old racebike, and the plugs looked like that before I rebuilt the top end. After I rebuilt the top end, and did nothing else, the plugs stayed clean. I don't know why, but I think sometimes burning oil looks like that...even though when plugs foul from oil they look different. I don't understand it, but that's what I've seen.

here's the story: i'm trying to fix this really rich condition...the engine is running off of speed density...i think it has a cam(i dont know), and the idle is anywhere from 900-1100 rpm...i did a tuneup today(plugs, cap, rotor)...my last tank i got 80 miles to 3/4's of a tank(thats a'lil more then 6mpg!)...its really starting to **** me off...i traded this car for my '96 jetta that was about to blow its trans, and this car is my daily driver right now...any ideas?
thanks in advance

the rings and or heads need some attention as they plugs are near oil fouled, anyway you look at it it needs a rebuild.
the whiteish burn is from a lean condition or to hot of a plug, and the heavy deposits are lean burn with lots of oil usage. im thinking it had an oil problem so the previous owner put higher range plug to try to keep them from getting foweled.

RE: tell me the story on my sparkplug...
According to my Haynes manual is looks like ash deposits.
Symptons:
Light brown deposits encrusted on the side or center electrodes or both.
Derrived from oil and/or fuel additives.
Excessive amounts may mask the spark, causing misfiring and hesitation during acceleration.
Recommendation:
If excessive deposits accumulate over short time or low mileage,
install new valve guide seals to prevent seepage of oil into the combustion chambers. Also try changing gasoline brands.
