Default RE: What certain 5.0 to get?

I never said the AOD's were bulletproof! Stock ones can be broken but not as easily as the T-5's. Since autos have a fluid coupling in the form of the torque converter, they absorb some of the shock loading at the launch and at the shifts where the manual tranny's don't have anything to absorb the shock of the clutch engaging under load. The aftermarket transmission builders for both manuals and autos have learned what the weak links are in each type and they use much stronger materials for the gears and shafts etc. in order to handle more torque without breakage. Stock manual trannys are just built cheap to handle the average style of driving and they don't like to be abused is why they tend to break so much. I see you haven't done the library research on the differences between the two I recommended you do so you would understand this better!
