You won't need to loosen the rockers to get them in. The retainers keep the lifters from turning (keep the rollers alligned with the cam) so you may have to turn the lifters a little to get them to line up with the retainer. I would get new intake gaskets just to be safe. You don't want to tear it down again for a vacume leak.

I'll get them on. Its gonna suck to have to get new gaskets. I think the only gaskets i can get around here are at advanced auto, and i had a complete felpro gasket set. I think all advanced carries is mr.gasket. Are those alright ? Or should i wait to get someting else ?

no im pretty sure that advanced sells fel pro b/c thats where i got mine at. im almost positive that they sell them there. and sorry bout the mistake man. hahahah it sucks man but you learn from it, and it just gets easier to do after you do it a few times.

Yea, sht happens. Live and learn. I'll swing by advanced and get some gaskets and then go rip tht off again. Atleast i caught it. That prolly wouldof been a disaster if we put it all together and those retainers werent in.

ya, those stop the lifters from spinning, good catch, you would need a new cam and lifters if you would have fired it up without them.
