RE: EGR Plate
The EGR plate does a few things. It acts as a spacer between the TB and manifold. It is an entrance for exhaust gases to be recirculated, and coolant flows through it. Other than that it really isn't needed, i'm taking mine off tonite as a matter of fact. I just hope the butterfly valve in the TB wont scrape up against the inside of the manifold!!

RE: EGR Plate
k. im on a budget so if i could do without buying a new egr plate that would be awesome. im just afraid of running without it. i think i remember hearing somewhere that taking it off could cost you some hp or something. anyways, Dbeck let me know how she runs after you take it off.

RE: EGR Plate
ok the answer is NO!!!!!! u cant take it off, the idle air control valve is hooked up to it and wont idle right at all, it will cost u hp because no as much air can be stored in it, u know how u buy throttle body spacers or carb spacer to make the intake thinks its bigger than it is therefore an increase in horsepower? this will cause the excact opposite, just buy one and save urself a lot of troubloe and horsepower!!!

k bobby, thats what i was thinking. looks like i'll have to buy an egr spacer when i get a new throttle body. oh well, ive seen some new ones for pretty cheap on ebay. they arent hard to install are they? just bolt them on and hook up the lines that go to it?

RE: EGR Plate
u do the throttle body the same time u do the spacer, not hard at all, virtually nothin to the maf just do it. take of this little braket and the intake tubing and out she comes!!!
