Default Who's got the lightest foxbody?

My mustang is a drag car, but I want it to be streetable at the same time. I'm looking for current suggestions on how to drop weight.

I'm aware of the tubular stuff and want to know how much weight it drops and which, if any, are better than others. I've currently got nothing inside, no dash, sound deadening, etc, because we're doing a complete on the car and changing the color. I'm also debating about switching to manual locks/windows, or removing them altogether. Does your car need to have windows in the doors to run at the track? The heater core/blower motor and AC have already been removed. Does anyone run manual steering in place of the power setup, if so how's it feel? I've got an electric fan to install, and I'm thinking about an electric water pump setup as well.

My car currently puts down just shy of 300whp/315wtq NA. I'm planning on doing a wet plate system over the winter with a 150shot. Hopefully that, combined with a few other HP gains, and the weight removed can net me a sub 10.50 in the spring.

Thanks for any suggestions or statistics, I'd like to see what the lightest 5.0l there is, and what it took to get there.

I have manual steering... but the p/s rack... it works ok... dont wanna spend the $$$ for a manual rack but steering would be even easier... More generally, if it doesnt make your car go fast or stop fast, get rid of it...

nah no one needs breaks, take them out completely. cut out your floor pans and put ur feet down to stop. might need new shoes fairly often but you'll be saving on weight lol

You need windows for a drag car, but you can screw them to the doors and use lexan.

probably gunna need a turbo or s/c to make a sub 10 street car....

nitrous is illegal on the street (even if the bottle isnt there..) anyway so hes already breakin the rules.

ur fox is probably under 2800lbs.. it aint gunna get much lighter without replacing body panels with fiberglass/aluminum (fenders, hatch, etc..)
