i was just wondering, what is the difference between a flat tappet cam and a roller cam?

more to it then that..flat tappet has a gradual lift on lobes and doent need a roller lifter,you can use a roller rocker on ittho..and a roller cam has a faster lift on lobe and requires a roller lifter .the roller is a lil better power and worth it if you can getthe $..plus a roller is much easier on ya drive train,and less friction on ya motor..a solid cam has no give on the lifter,the lifter is a solid piece no plunger,and a solid usualy requires a periodic adjustment.of lash..but a solid give great power...
