Default need 12v ignition on?

For those splicing wires for a 12v ignition on source... I came across this. I can't access the full article, but It can give you an idea of what needs to be done. If you're wondering how it's wired, look at the picture at the very top (the one with all the writing on it).

Good info. I just used a fused fuse tap when I installed my gauges. It worked like a charm, and didn't require any splicing or other jerry-rigging.
