is it a problem filling it with oil though?
Not if you do it from the pass. side and use a funnel.

Blue, you can run the stock hood (I still am for now), but you will need to clearance it. If you look at the pics I posted, you can see the marks on the top of the intake toward the front on the driver's side. One of the hood braces touches there, even w/ the stops in the front unscrewed as high as they will go and still let the hood latch... I used my Dremmel to remove part of it and that helped, but it still touches the actual hood at the top of the EGR spacer. When the hood is closed, you can see where the top of the EGR is pushing up on the sheetmetal (not noticible at a glance).

That really sucks...

Well, thanks alot gspfunk. You just saved me alot of work because I would not of ran the stock hood and I would of ended up taking it all back out. Another q..

Is there any real advantage running a spacer besides gaining clearance for my valve covers?

I honestly don't know.... I'm guessing it doesn't help as much if you still have your EGR stuff (which I do).... If you got rid of the EGR equip, the spacer would truly help keep the upper cooler b/c the gases/coolant wouldn't be flowing thru the upper.

I was going to install my TF ST manifold yesterday along w/ my Strange 10 ways but I decided against it because I wanted to do my valve covers at the same time. I decided to get these... http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku the FRPP tall valve covers. Will I have any clearance issues with the street heat manifold and the tall covers? I was told they are 3 3/4' tall if that helps any.

Also, why I am ordering the VC's does anyone have a recommendation for gaskets?

THANKS!!!
Whaddap, Blue?!?!? That's the exact same thing I'm running. Now for the bad news....

You'll need the 1" phenolic spacer to go between the upper and lower; you'll have to grind/Dremmel the throttle linkage to fit over the pass. side valve cover; and you'll want to start looking for a cowl hood (at least 1.5" or so).

I'm running the stock hood on mine right now, but it bumps the top of the intake on the driver's side (will slowly wear off your painted intake) and it also bumps the EGR spacer.

Do you know if it will work with the .375 in spacer?

The ford F1ZZ-6584-B valve cover gaskets are the best. They are metal reinforced and reusable.

I just got some valve covers from summit, and they are taller than my stock ones. Not possitvie on the height tho. I hope i dont have any issues. I put on the driver side valve cover and sat the intake on top and everything was fine. But i have to use that elbow cuz i have a sn, so i dont think i'll have problems with my egr, but not possitive.

88, dont htey have those in any shorter heights ? Those are sweet, that would go awesome with that intake you painted.

Yea I know that is specifically the only reason why I painted the top of that manifold red. I know I didnt go through all of that work for nothing! And I dont think they make them in another height [:@]
