Im trying to buy a new pickup, and in order to do so, I need to sell my mustang. Its an 1983 GT. It originally had a 4cyl, swapped in a 5.0 bored .60 over, with an aftermarket cam, and a holley 4 barrel carb. It has power windows and premium sound. There is under 15 miles on it since the new motor was swapped in. It has a new alternator and battery. New plugs and wires. New brakelines. And racing hoodpins (Not shown) I did some body work, so the body is decent for being 23 years old.

EDIT: Its a 5 speed, and the clutch was brand new when the motor was put in

What are you asking?
If your trying to sell it try they 4 sale section.
If your asking what it's worth I'd say you wont get what you put into it.

$4000 max, are there any other perfomance mods that'd appeal to a seller? ( i can't view the pics) but from the sounds of it you have a '83 GT w/ a 306 swap, 7.5" rear end w/ stock gears, stock suspension, Aftermarket Carb and Cam. The motor swap being so young may discourage buyers, it would me anyways, If I were a potential buyer I'd suspect your unloading it because something went wrong. [&:] sorry, just being honest w/ you! And theres nothing wrong with the motor swap, I really want to keep this, because I want to take it downtown and show the civics whats up

But...Im trying to buy a new 2500HD and that requires a lot more money than I have, and the Mustang will pay off my jeep loan and get me started on the truck.

I would never pay 4K for that... (sorry not saying its garbage or anything) but you can get something in alot better condition than that for 4K. Personally, I wouldnt pay anymore than three. Stangs are wierd though with their prices, there is no REAL book value for these cars, it all depends on how bad the buyer wants it. I say three but who knows, you may get more...

How bad is the rust now that you have done some work to it... rust really turns people away!

Im not 100% done yet (probably 85%) but all the rust you can see in the pics is gone (In the front of the drivers door, right behind the drivers door, and behind the rear wheel). There is still some on the bottom of the passenger door, but I took care of 3 holes, and I will get to one real small one if I have time.

It also comes with an extra set of tires/rims

Yeah teh rust is what is gonna kill you! hopefully it is all covered up, but you know that stuff never goes away! Good luck on selling, as far as price goes 3000 obo. I would take a lower offer becuase you know how much rust is on that thing, but the buyer doesnt.
