Default Speedo/tranny clip

Anyone know what kind of clip is supposed to hold the speedometer cable into the transmission? I ran my new cable tonight and the clip to the tranny wasn't there. Just wondering if this is something I can grab at Advance or AutoZone. Some sort of pin or something...

You might be able to. I think it is like your dizzy hold down but is a "U" in shape.

no, that us the clip that holds the gear on the cable. You still have the bolt from when you took the cable out? Is it on there?

You may have to get this whole thing. But if you take a look at the eyelit, that is what you want... Like he said a u-shape, but also needs a place to bolt down.

Bolt? There wasn't a bolt...it just clipped into the tranny. Are automatics and manuals different in how they receive the cable? I have an automatic...

I had to get this for my car (speedo doesn't work)

Not sure if that's what you need.

Same thing as mine but much cheaper in price, the hold down is attached if you look.

what year is your stang is it a direct drive or is it computerized .If it
is older direct look above the body clamp (up and down the cable) you will find the clip.it bolts into the side of trany with a 3/8 blot.
if it is a newer stang and has an elctronic speedo then the clip is in side the sensor you must get the enter cable to line up and slide in then you will hear a click.
