Default need advice

well this morning my car died again.....i was leaving a light and it just died.....it wont start back up now.....its been doin this for a while.....it will start after sitting for a few hours... and i replaced the distributor last night...so thats not it....what else could it be??

What does it do when you try to start it? Does anything happen? ie just clicking, cranking but not turning, etc...

it cranks and its turning the belt like normal just wont fire

How's your fuel filter? If your filter or anything is clogged up it would cause that. As fuel flows it sucks the particles in and clogs it up until it starves the engine out. Then as it sits the particles settle (because there is no more suction) and it will fire up again. I have also seen ignition modules cause this issue.

so far trying to fix it .....i have replaced the coil...the distributor..the battery..and the engine ground strap

Than I would go with samseeds idea and check the fuel filter.

In that case, check out one of two things... either your Ignition Control Module or your Profile Ignition Pickup module / Hall effect sensor.

ya i replaced the whole distributor last night so it shouldent be the hall effect sensor
