Nah, not worth it. Just slap a Novi 2000 and do a PI swap on your 4.6 and be done with it!

You'll have a wicked fast machine.

pros=bigger aftermarket... and u can say its a 5.0
cons=alota work, and for the $ itd take to do the swap it would prob be worth putting an s/c or something else on your car instead...

If you got the time and money, why not ? But then again you could just SC your motor you have now. Any specific reason you want to do this ?

s/c a non PI motor isnt worth it....the heads and intake dont allow for good air flow, dosnt pay.....and a PI head swap or PI engine swap are pricy also.

this would be great if the costs were about the same becasue the 5.0 aftermarket parts are readily availbe and cheaper

let say i go with the PI swap....im left wiith a 260hp motor but unless i throw another couple grand at it for a s/c it prob would never see much more then that with bolt ons

school me on the 5.0......wat does it take for you 5.0's to run with the 99+ guys

You can run with 99+'s pretty easily with a modded 5.0. The cars are pretty much the same weight, but you can mod a 5.0 much easier and cheaper than 4.6.
I'd say with gears, headers, pulleys, full exhaust, cai, and other small bolt ons etc....
And most definatly run with them with a cheap HCI swap.
Or n20 is always good. Strap on a big shot, and you'll have no problems beating them. Theres many possibilites for a 5.0, the aftermarket is HUGE, and pretty good priced too.
If your gonna do the swap, i'd do a budget HCI while the 5.0 is on a stand. Wont be very hard while its out of the car and nothing attached.

price will depend on the route you take... We put a 5.0 H.O. in my friends mustangs from the mount up using three donor cars for parts. It came out to about $500 for engine/computer/transmission & the little crap we needed to get it going good. (1 injector, o2 sensor, 2 plug wires) It wasn't that hard, just time consuming. I think it's well worth it just for the prices of aftermarket parts & availability of parts.
