x2 on EGR valve. The hose will run to a cluster of 4-5 hoses on the pass. side between the firewall and strut tower. If all your emissions stuff is hooked up, you should have:

2 lines running to 2 different solenoids on the hose between the smog pump (if you still have it) and the H pipe.
1 line running to the EGR (obviously not there or not hooked up on that end)
1 line running to the vacuum tree on the underside of your upper intake manifold (at the back)

I'm thinknig the previous owner probably did a half-assed smog delete and egr delete or something. Then again, he did mention having idoe problems so maybe there really is a vacuum line thats off somewhere. Of course, you'd be able to hear that.

ok, so it looks like the smog pump is gone. there is a band clamp that is on the firewall on passanger side. that looks like it used to hold it. There is a open black small hose comeing out of the firewall int he passanger side corner. I taped up the open end of the egr valve shoudl i have done this. Thanks.

Get another pic or 2 of what you're talking about. It's alot easier to help you that way and advice will be more accurate if we know exactly what you're talking about......
