Default Coolant In Oil ...

Yesterday my and my friend were going to work on my car. When I popped my hood he said that he smelt burning coolant but I didnt smell anything. Its almost time for an oil change so I just drained my oil a few mintues ago... Im almost positive that there is coolant in my oil. Im running RP and its half way green but I have to check to see if the coolant floats... any suggestions of what it could be?
The car runs fine; no hesitation; power loss; etc. Also, I checked my coolant and the coolant looks fine. Talk to me guys!

sample the oil and send it in for analysis... you should do this periodically anyway...

Possibly intake gasket
+1. Same problem I have in my other beast that I drive. My 1996 Geo Tracker. We're talking 95 HP at the flywheel baby!!!!

But anyway, I need to change it soon, just haven't gotten around to it. It's only my beater anyway.

Most likely cause would be the timing cover or gasket and the intake gasket followed by head gaskets. Over time with improper cooling system maintenence the aluminum parts or the gaskets between them and castiron will rot away.

The oil will float on the water. If the engine sat for a while and you pulled the plug water would come out first. The oil should have looked like a chocolate milkshake if water was in it.

You mean coolant? Im just really confused because the first thing I think of when I think of coolant in your oil is blown headgasket.

No loss of power
Doesnt Leak
Doesnt Smoke
etc.

Any other suggestions of what it could be or where I could look to fix this problem? And Im not sure if any of you guys know this but the past month I have been loosing coolant like crazy and I made a few threads about it...

Do you have enough coolant mixed with the water, if your motor isnt acting up knocking ect the larger part of your water loss could be evaporation just a thaught
