drscore, if you had posted all that info in the original thread, things wouldn't have come across so abrasive, i apologize for bashing your ride, now that i have a better understanding of the purpose of the car, and rationale for it, i respect it, i dont like, but i respect it. best of luck to you.

The reason that the car carries plates is that when I started this effort I did not have a tow vehicle, and I had no plans on getting one. Well, the wife decided her LS wasn't big enough for her and one 5 year old, thus I have a new Navigator. However, I have no place to stow a trailer (my neighbors were already bitching about the 5 cars), and it was becoming a logistical nightmare just to get the car somewhere if it needed some expert TLC or even gas. That is why I keep a plate on it. It really helps to be able to drive it to get work done, get gas, and given that I have Willow Springs 90 min away, Fontana 2 hours away, and Buttonwillow probably 3 hours away, it reduces my headaches significantly. It is never driven on the street just to cruise. (See below, that is what the new Mustang is for).

As for not wanting to gut the interior, I just couldn't bring myself to do it. If I run the car seriously in races, I will have to remove the interior and save the 300 pounds. However I have owned this car since I was 18 and have put 200,000 miles on it, and it just felt like I was hurting my own child. This car will certainly be capable of doing all of the club events, but I don't want to get into serious racing. That would be a money drain on a whole new level. I am also considering running it one of these years in the Silver State Classic as well one of these years, but only time will tell. I just wanted one bad *** machine that would let me do more and more as my skills and stupidity levels increase.

Well I will post pictures when I get it through paint and body, which will hopefully be done in a few months. In the mean time, here is a pic of the Cobra. I threw in some additional pictures of the guitar I had custom built and painted Mystichrome (now that should be another thread--guitars painted like cars!). It is a beautiful day here, time for a cruise.
