Default about to rebuild engine....

I am about to get my 90 convertible AOD rebuilt by a shop.

what kind of internals should i tell them to use? he said that he uses good cast pistons (cant remember the name). I dont know much about engines.... so... can someone tell me what i should tell my mechanic to install?

I just want a soild daily driver that i can do ocaisional burntouts in, and its mostly going to be driven by my girlfriend. something a little over stock horse power.

i also would like it to sound badass... any suggestions? i told him id like to get heads/cam/intake and he said that its not reliable because of the computer?

you wont need to tune it, you should start tuning once you have most of the basic mods then like when you start bringing more air and fuel into the engine, ie more HP, and even though 90 is MAF right? so thats better for mods anyways, i dont think ur mechanic is too sure of what hes talking about. Getting him to install the mods would cost alot more, you can do all those mods in your driveway.. if you atleast know what your doing

well i can probably do the intake and heads.... but the cam i dont know about... can i run a e303 or trick flow stage 1 on stock heads untill i put in good ones?

and what kind of heads should i go with afr 165 or trickflow? and what does "tuning" require with a stock bottom end (rebuilt) with these bolt ons i want to add?
