Default update need more help rich/h rpms

well i need some help ive been doing a head job and got all done tonight everythings torqued right and no leaks. my problem is it hits the hot on the temp and it doesnt seem like the water pump is working/pumping. Could the fins on the water pump be eaten away by rust? i ran it with the cap off at first and after i turned the engine off it seemed to boil over. not like a head would all the time. so if any of u guys can help id appreciate it dave


UPDATE----- got the heat issue fixed and need more help on some things. ! problem is i have fuel in the vac lines i know that the fuel regulator. 2 is high rpm when warm 2krpms and last is running really rich can see it and smell it from exhaust.

heres a quick test, down buy the breather hole is there water or calcuim or rust stains? if so that pump is probable a goner

i think i know what ure talkin about the hole on top and bottom by the shaft right? i dont remember BUT when i took off the water hose it had rusty water running down it.

tell ya the truth i didnt have time but i thought it moved ok. cars like 40 min away and was up there till 8 tonight

I am not positive about the 5.0 models but the v6 engines had a cap near the thermostat housing that you needed to remove when filling the cooling system for the air to escape.

Leave the coolant down an inch or two. Start the engine and let it warm up. Rev it up and it should push the air out and the coolant level will drop. Add more coolant and install the cap add to the overflow tank to full hot. When it cools down it will suck the coolant from the tank into the radiator. Once cooled down recheck the radiator level and you should be fine.
