i've just been bored sitting here and decided to try and be able to tell the difference between each foxbody... i've come to the conclusion of:

1979-1981- you can tell them because the grill is kinda checker or a bunch of little squares. and had a ford symbol to the side( http://www.mustangclubxalapa.com.mx/Ramon01.jpg )
1982- was like 2 little lines from each end of the lights ( http://www.geocities.com/fordmustang...rd_Mustang.jpg )
1983/84- was like the 79-81 but the vertical lines were behind the diagonal and had the ford logo in the middle ( http://www.seriouswheels.com/pics-19...t-1024x768.jpg )
1985/86- were just like a open space kind of.. lol ( http://www.musclegarage.com/1986-Mustang-A076-002.jpg )

sorry if those seem a little confusing thats the way i can remember it lol.

then theres the 87-93's, can anyone help me to tell the difference between them? i have no idea how to tell the difference so if i ever see one driving or something i can never tell what year it is does anyone have any helpfull hints lol

there is basically no diff except colors and interior. The 82 looks like an svo.

86 5.0L

uh 82 doesnt look like an svo......

really? cuz i thought the SVO's weren't really 4 eyes for a lack of better words.

well up to 89, maybe 90, i believe they had the mclaren steering wheel which was a lateral bar with a circle in the middle with the blue oval. then came the air bags. this also did away with the tilt steering column. 91-93 also had different front fenders. the wheel opening is larger to accomidate larger wheels. then also if stock, they had ponies on them from the factory instead of turbines. there is also something else that is a bit different but i can't remember at the moment.
as for the SVO, they werent 4 eyed like the older foxs. thats when the "aerodynamic" headlights started comming into the picture.

yeah I wish my car looked like an svo but I beleve if the car is a 87 to 90 lx the trim in the center of the door and around the car is black and 91-93 it is painted to match the car.

90-93 have larger front wheel wells, other than that it's hard to tell on the fox bodies, other than LX to GT, not much is obviously different year to year... i dont think[&:]

87-89 didnt have airbags and 90-93 has airbags

yea 90 started with that hideous steering wheel, i love the 87-89 one its hot!
