Pics of Weekend Fun
So I pulled the engine back out of the car(rebuilt it 1800 miles ago) to put in my 1996 explorer engine with GT40 stuff on it.
The reason I didnt just stick the heads and intake on the mustang engine is because after re-building it, I was torquing the flywheel bolts and one of them pulled the threads out... so I heli-coiled it and I didnt like that too much. This engine has a good crank and low milage. I know it doesnt have the forged pistons, but for what I'm doing, I dont need it. Anyway, here are some pics... its not running yet, a few more things to hook up.
I also used the new style 19# injectors and oil cooler off the 96 motor.
**Edited to make more sense

How much did the explorer engine set you back if you don't mind me asking? I'm looking for cheap ideas because I'm nearing 140K on my engine and wondering how long it's going to last.

Looking good 5speed!

Explorer motor is all fine and dandy, except... the cam thats in the explorer is all down low... i'd expect to lose alot off the top-end... i would have thrown a cam in there while i had it apart, but thats me. Sure is purdy though :-)
