94-95 5.0s hate aftermarket cams b/c of the computer sensativity, they almost never run well without a tune. I think that's the main reason they make computer compatible cams

I have heard that the 94-95 gts have problems with cam swaps. A dyno tune is usually the solution to that problem. But it could definately be something else. How did you degree the cam? Did you remember to put the crank gear at 12 o clock, and the cam gear at 6 o clock? What is your timing set at?

Do you have an adjustable valvetrain?
If you do, did you set the valve lash correctely? What i'm thinking is that the rocker could be set too tight and the valve may be staying open. That would give you the rough idle and the intake popping.
Recheck your rockers if they're adjustable. If it is not the rockers then it may be your timing chain not set right.
Look at these things and let us know.

Just get it dyno tuned, even with a 93 computer its still not gonna be as good as a dyno tune will give you. In order to get the most out of a setup, your definatly gonna need a dyno tune, or a tune of some sort. Sure the fox computers take to mods better, and can be realy good and fast without a tune, but still, a tune will always be better.

i was actually having the exact same issue. mine was due to a few vacume leaks as well as my timing being to low. i brought it to a show and they quicky ran the dyno on it to make sure and it solved my issues. my best guess is the poping is cause there is not enough vacume. as everyone else said a dyno tune with a chip will set you straight and add prolly 20 hp

1. Remove the valve covers, and pick ANY cylinder you are going to START WITH.

2. Hand rotate the engine in its normal direction of rotation(CLOCKWISE 24MM SOCKET, ALSO HELPS TO REMOVE FAN OFF WATER PUMP, 11MM) and watch the EXHAUST valve on that particular cylinder(THE VALVE RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE HEADER EXIT).
When the exhaust valve BEGINS TO OPEN stop and adjust that cylinders intake rocker arm. (

spin the intake pushrod with your fingers while tightening down the rocker arm. When you feel a slight resistance to the turning of the pushrod, you are at Zero Lash
. Turn the adjusting nut down one full turn from that point. Lock the adjuster into position(IF APPLICABLE). The intake is now adjusted properly.

5. Continue to hand turn the engine, watching that same intake. It will go to full open and then begin to close. When it is almost closed, stop and adjust the exhaust rocker arm on that particular cylinder.

6. Both valves on this cylinder are now adjusted, and you can move on to your next cylinder and follow the same procedure again.

, redo this before getting a new ecm or tune
