Questions About Headers
Okay first of all, i know nexted to nothing about headers. So if anyone has a link or anything to a good article that would be great. But anyways to the point, there are some MAC shorty headers for sale that i might be interested in. Does anyone have any experience with these? Also, it says the EGR valves have been welded shut, could someone explain that? One last question, i have a 94 GT and they are for a 94 cobra, will they still fit my car? Any advice is helpul thanks

RE: Questions About Headers
dont buy them, they are more ov a headache than you will really want to get into.
There are 3 different types of headers available for 5.0 stangs.
Shorty, Unequal length.
Nice all around headers, made to fit easy and a good first mod (along with the rest of your exhaust). These are the closest to stock
Shorty, Equal length.
Slightly better performance characteristics than the unequal headers, Also a more complicated install... can be very time consuming to get fitted properly. Best returns on stock to mild motors.
Long Tube or Full Length.
These bad boys are the ultimate header. Although designed to aid in power building, they tend to take power away from stock to mild motors. I would generally leave long tubes to a built motor. PAIN IN THE FKING *** TO INSTALL...
Almost everyone here will tell you to get BBK headers.... and to stay away from MAC headers

RE: Questions About Headers
I got MAC Equal lengths. They were a bit of a pain to install but not TOO bad. Main thing is with ALOT of MACs the flange isnt 1 solid piece which makes them warp sometimes. This make it harder to get all the bolt holes to align. Mine required a little bit of prying with my trusty pry bar to get on but they work and sound GREAT! Of course being equal lengths made it a little harder as well but damn they look nice.
