Default EGR cap ?

Can i buy a cap for the EGR tube on the header at a hardware store or lowes/home depot ?

I don't recommend it. you'll lose power.


but in answer to your question. yes you can buy a cap for your headers. but you must buy the correct EGR bypass kit. to make your car think it still has an EGR. if anything just buy the tube.

i have a tube for it, i just took out my smog pump, is it alright to leave the egr fully hooked up without the smog pump ?

For some reason i had an understanding that its not.....But now that i thnk about it, i have no idea why i think that.....

I hear its bad cuz it raises intake temps about 50*+

^^Pshhhh, 14 bones for a cap, eff that....I thnk i'm gonna keep the EGR on so i dont run into any problems....

Ok, so is it bad to do away with the EGR? Mine is all off and i thought everything was ok, but these recent posts have me worried. The only thing still on my car for EGR is the diaphram thing on the spacer and it is not hooked up at all, just there until i get a blockoff plate. Someone set me straight

Well i hear that its bad cuz it raises your intake temp 50*+, and it makes your car run worse.....Also did your engine light come on ?

i am pretty sure the guy who had my car disconnected the CEL long ago. It doesnt come on when i start the car, and it has never come on. I am sure my car is throwing some serious codes though
