Transmission ?
I am looking at buying a 1989 Mustang Gt police interceptor supposovly pushing 350 rwhp and after he had the engine restored and everything got a rebuilt t-5 tranny put in the engine roasted the tranny with in 2 weeks. So my question is i don't want to have to spend the 2100 on a tko 500 after instal and all of that good old stuff. I found a 2 guys selling t-5's that say that there's are World class heavy duty t-5's that can with hold up to 500ft lbs/t which doesn't make sense to me because they came out with WC t-5s in 85 which can only with stand 330ft lbs/t. is it possible that these transmissions can handle that much becuase i dont' want to go and spend a grand or more and have the tranny blow on me with in a few weeks and i dont' have the money to go and get a tko 500. So let me know folks.

RE: Transmission ?
World Class T-5 can be rebuilt with the "G-Force" gear kit
and they are rated at 500 ft/lbs of torque.
Personally i think they're blowing smoke up your ***.
World Class Heavy Duty was still only good for 330 ft/lbs
If you want it to hold up to 350rwhp you're gonna have to
spend $2,000 on TKO 600 install.
cheapest thing you can do is get the G-Force rebuild kit from astroperformance
but you'll have close to $2,000 in that by the time your done too.

RE: Transmission ?
There was an advertisement in last months 5.0 showing replacement gears for the t-5. I can check when I get home if you want more information about it. They are supposed to be much stronger than stock.
