thanks.... people tell me to go with 3.73s cus this is my daily driver and 4.10s will kill my MPG... comments?

Simple physics...to get something you gotta give something up. Most guys with autos go with the 4.10's but you will give up some mileage. Also a transgo shift kit makes all the difference in an AOD. a 3K stall will add to the kick also.

It won't kill your gas mileage but it will go down a little bit. If you can't decide then just compromise and get 3.90s. Besides, you drive a v8 mustang, gas mileage should be the last thing you worry about.

I'm running 3.90s, custom built 3000 rpm stall, and I'm going to be ordering an Automatic/Manual valvbody within the next couple of weeks. This set up works great for a DD/weekend warrior.

There are plenty of c6's for the SBF, every one my my trucks had a SBF and a c6, they are everywhere. Look in older f 150s. 87 and down models

is there such a thing as a 5 (or more) speed automatic? or is AOD (4 speed) the most it goes?

Well i know in the trucks there are E4OD's which is a 4 speed auto + OD so 5-speed auto. I am sure they make a 5 speed auto for the cars

the e40d is a c6 w/ an overdrive, so its still less than an aod
