Is your car stock? ???

gears, 3.73
Iwould say get some afftermarket heads like eddlebrock, AFR and an intake, e-303 cam and gt40 valve-train. If you got the money then stroke your motor to 347, corvettes got 346 in that bitch.

Personaly i like the looks of the cobra intake the best, its good up to about 400ish hp so no worries there. but evryone is gonna flame on me for saying that becouse just about evry other intake makes a tad more HP.

LOW Budget???

Get Heads and intake off a 96+ explorer, they got the good gt40 heads and cobra intake and 65mm throttle body from the factory, you probably wont be corvette fast, but you will have an impresive and fun street car. 97.5+ the explorers got gt40p heads, they flow better than the original gt40 heads under .500 lift but will probably require new headers to clear the revised spark plug anlge. No problem there cuz you should get long tube headers anyways.

He said in his post that he had the trick flow top end kit. H/C/I

What kind of numbers do people get on the dyno with that kit? Is it over 350 HP? The 1998 vette was 335 HP at the fly wheel so if a stang is pushing near 350 at the rear wheels then it should be a very close race I would think.

Somebody said "if they can afford a C5 they can afford minor mods". The C5 is not very expencive anymore. You can get them for under $20,000 if you shop around. A lot of younger kids are starting to pick them up. I got a 2004 C5 with 13,000 miles on it for $25,900. My wife found her 1998 C5 with 97,000 miles on it for 17,100....they are about the same price as a cobra of the same year. The prices droped as soon as the C6 came out.

With supporting mods with that trickflow kit it should be around 340-350 to the fly, with some gears you should be able to hang prety well......

Thats bad ***. I ordered that kit a few weeks ago. I can't wait to get out of Kuwait so I can go home and put it in.

As you can tell I did basically zero research on the kit before I bought it. lol I just took everybodys work for it that it was the best bang for the buck. My wife is gunna be pissed when I smoke her with a car that has less than $5k invested in it.

^ Be sure to uprgrade your MAF and TB too, definatly get gears if you dont have em, and headers for sure. You'll need everything to be open wide throughout the whole airflow process, Air filter - muffler.......

The main issue alot of newbies find out , is that back in 1986-1993 Ford produced a Fast Fox Body to compete with other cars of that year . Here we are 10+ years THAT A LONG TIME !, our cars need to be brought up to date, suspension and power wise, to compete with todays and yesterdays competition

If he only has full exhaust and a tune you shouldnt be too far off from him. How much is he beating you by? Do you have a 5spd or an automatic? What gears do you have right now?

He pulls at least 1 1/2 cars in each gear. After 4th gear it gets worse. The LS1 top end power is pretty crazy.

I talked to him again today and his fastest 1/4 mile time is 12.79@109. His 60 ft was over 2.1 too so the car is capable of better times. It going to take me quite a bit more money to catch him I think. I was thinking about a blower.

If I put a blower on the car I will have enough invested in it that I could have just went and got a C5....I don't really know what to do. haha
