Default Cure For a Dulled 95 Headlight Lens

Both outer headlight covers on our 95 Mustang are discolored and dulled. I had limited success with Fritz and Simichrome metal polishes in bringing some degree of clearness back to the outside of the lenses, but they still looked dull - - just less so. I have heard of a Mequiar Wax product - - "ProtecX"?? thats supposed to help clear the dullness up, but have no idea if product is worth a hoot. What's a good course of action here, or do I simply need to replace the units? - - And, if theres no other solution, is there something fairly priced out there thats better than Ford replacement stuff??

Theres this stuff out there called
Blue Magic i believe.
It's made just for that purpose, to clean yellowed plastic headlights.
Stuff works pretty good, and it's only a couple bux.

http://www.cjponyparts.com/

You can get new headlights at $131.90 (both), or you can get an ultra clear pair for $189.95.

I had same problem and just opted for some cobra lights, clear corners, fogs, and xenon bulbs, really makes the car look amazing. Save the trouble, most of the yellow stuff is on the inside anyway and you have to try and clean it through the bulb hold around the bracket, unless you cut the plastic lense away and re-glue it together. However, the yellow stuff is not really on the outside, although some is: water or condensation if you prefer gets trapped inside and when the sun hits it, it glazes over on the inside of your headlight. I got my cobra lights from 1001autoheadlights.com for a hefty price but they are really nice. I'd suggest just looking on ebay for some clear lights and corners.

Actually, most if not all the yellow stuff on my old headlights were on the outside.
If your headlights are properly sealed water shouldnt be in there in the first place.

True, however in his case he said that he tried stuff on the outside with no luck, and mine was on the inside. The seals do not crack that easily but water can sneak in from anywhere.
