87 and 88(sept in cali) are speed density, 89+ are MAF. i think up untill 90 they didnt have air bags. uh... tilt steering also went away when air bags came into play. stock for stock there basically all the same... if you plan to mod it go w. a MAF car, takes mods better. if you want to stay stock either will be good, but SD is a little, not much but a little faster than MAF stock for stock.

They didn't get airbags untill 1990. Dimebag pretty much covered it, they are all basically the same. When I got my 5.0 I only looked at 91-93 5.0's but that didn't have anything to do with power or reliability, I just wanted certain features.

It's mostly stupid reasons. When they got airbags in 1990 they changed the steering wheel design from the 87-89 mustangs. I just like the look of the airbag steering wheel and think the 87-89 steering wheel is ugly. In 1991 the pony wheels came out, I really wanted those because I think the 10 holes and turbine wheels are ugly. That's no big deal though, most people switch to pony wheels or get some aftermarket wheels. Also, in 1993 they got hypereutectic pistons but that's nothing to worry about either.

Didn't the T5 of some years have slightly differnent ratios? I heard that a while ago but no one has confirmed it.
