i never said it would. if your putting it on a 5.0 you have to use teh explorer lower manifold.

oh, ok, i misread. that upper lighting intake looks f*cking killer though!

yea it does look killer but theres 1 major thing that bugs me about it, uhh since our intake is on the left side instead of the right, u have to put the intake upside down. then the lightning text is upside down, only flaw, i wonder if you can put the lower 351w bottom on the 302 block. never tried it my lightning gt-40 intake was given to me, had the lightning upper & gt-40 from an explorer lower, so i never got to try.

from everything i've read (mainly in 351 swap articles), the lower 351 intake will not go on a 5.0 motor. yeah that would look kind of retarted having the lighting wording going the other way...custom as all hell though! will the bolt pattern line up on the lower if you spin it around like that so the TB is on the pass. side like its supposed to be?

Are you saying the lower manifold will bolt up to a 351W? I always heard that you have to change it...

i dunno if the 351w bottom will bolt up to the 302, i have the lower intake from a explorer the lower gt-40, the top is the lightning 1 from a 95 gen 1 lightning. it bolts up to the lower gt-40 i have turned upside down.

The 351W lower will not bolt up to a 302. The 351 is wider.

I LOVE the Lightning manifold (except for the upsidedown thing) but they may be a bit more than I wanted to spend. I was hopnig to keep it under $500 for both the upper and lower. I Figure I'm gonna spend $200 on the Steeda #19 cam, and I'm spending another $100 for 30# injectors. Not sure what I'm spending on heads but those will be expensive too. That's why I was hoping to keep the intake price lower.

The last intake shootout I read put the RPM, Street heat, GT40, and bbk all w/ several hp of each other. I run the street heat and like it.

One big + that I've heard about the tubular GT40 is that it has more power across the entire rpm range, not just peak; especially w/ boost.
