Default Which should I do

I don't kno if I Should keep my 86 5.O HO EFI engine and go through changing my pistons to be able to get aftermarket heads OR just buy a brand new 302 that comes with gt-40 heads and new gt-40x piston heads and a b303 cam already installed so all I have to do is swap it right in. But the engine costs about 3600 Is this worth getting or am better off working with my 86 5.O HO EFI?

If you know what your doing rebuild it yourself. You can get afr heads and a stroker kit for less than that.

Well how is the bottom end on the engine you got ?How many miles on it? If it got alot of miles on it already I would just go with the new engine....New from Top to Bottom.

get a new motor but get a stock 5.0 from 87^ thats what i am doing and then put afr's on it, u should be able to get a stock block for 300-500 bucks then the cost of the heads roller rockers and rods, then assemble it urself that is what i am doing, i was told to get new pistons and have the shop put them in is over 1800 but thats what i was told

Yea if u guys are doing a new motor, just do a 351w, then choose your path from there.

As you might already know the 351w fits in nicely and has a lot more possibilities further down the road. It also is stronger and can with hold more than our 302 blocks at around 450rwhp.

If your not the power-adder type of guy, get the 351w, stroke it, have a nice heads and cam combo with a few more natural aspiration mods, and you have one bad *** stang.

BOTTOM LINE: don't waste ur time with the 302 if your doing a swap, the 351w in my opinion is far more worthwhile.
