i checked here and everybody said not to do it.. i called around and was quoted anywhere from 650-900 for a top installed...so i thought what the heck i bought a top on ebay for 190.00 plus shipping, it came with the top the window and the front header lip trim and the outside hold down peice for the rear of the top(the peice that is screwed on)and the cables..i thought if i mess it up im out 200.00, so anyway i thought it was pretty easy i had to loosen the back window and re-staple that because i had a wrinkle in it..not bad at all though..i will say that your better off getting new pads wich i also got on ebay for 50.00 and buy an electric stapler and be sure to use stainless staples so they dont rust(i got the stapler and the staples at sears for 50.00)..heres some pics with the old top off..i didnt have any problems with the tack strips or any of the hold downs..probably the hardest part is just getting it centered..when i started to do the install i just cranked up my salamander heater got it very hot in my garage and the top stretched nicley...after youre done it takes a couple of days for the top to stretch so you can hook youre latches up..i just got it hot again and used a little muscle and got them latched and after about 2 days your good to go..

You are brave my friend, I paid to have mine done. I knew there was no way in the world I would be able to make it look right. Good job!
