when my defrosters on it boggs my car down like 200 rpms at idle normaly, and a couple times it has damn near killed it, well today it actualy died for a second and then came back, im pretty sure that wasnt normal. i know its normal for it do it just a little but this isnt right.

anyone know what i can do to fix this? ive never messed with my idle stuff so it should be stock settings or whatever.

when you turn on your defroster that cycles your ac pump ..if its bogging the motor that bad there should be a load sensor for when it kicks on..if thats bad youll have that...ac pump could be going out..you can unplug the ac pump and try it you should have no load then..also make sure you have a good tune up including fuel filter..clean the tb..

i know i need a new one, everytime i put my headlights on the charge drops a little, then when i hit a button they dim everytime.

I also saw that when i turn my wheel to the maximum turning length my car stalls!

possible key switch going.. have a ford dealership do a search to see if yours was replaced on the recall, try to do a quick turn on the steering wheel see if it quits

i would try what MIKE86 said. if your a/c compressor is going out it can really put the motor in a bind

you called it a defroster so I assume you're talking about the rear window one. That thing takes huge power to run, so if your alt is weakening your car would bog down when you turned it on. I jump-started a car at work an the battery was so dead when i turned on the rear defroster the car died, so if your battery is old it could be that too, but your car would probably be dead after only sitting for a couple days if the battery was no good. I'm gonna say alternator.

its not the rear defroster, its the front, its just like the heater i think. it dosnt do it on the "floor" or "mix" setting tho only the defrost one.

Oh okay, well then it's prolly something to do with the AC, b/c that does turn on when u turn on your front defroster.
