Overheating problem!

RE: Overheating problem!
I going to cut you some slack because you are a newbie, but pay attention to what some of us have already told you about the thermostat setting! Yes it does matter a lot! Too low a setting lets the coolant flow out of the block too fast and it doesn't have time to absorb the engine heat and get it out to the radiator to be dissipated to the air. the flow through the radiator will also be higher and this cuts the residence time the coolant has in the radiator to shed the heat too. I still say the 190 degree thermostat is best for this engine and that 200-210 degress is not too hot either. you are worrying over something that you don't need to be concerned about!

RE: Overheating problem!
Well, I appreciate the info, but you could have SPARED me the arrogance! I wasn't worrying over nothing, I was just being precautious. But I guess that was too much for you. Thanx to all the other guys that helped out here! Now that I have word from the ELDER and wise I can move on! PEACE!
