Default Overheating problem!

Need help, i dont know if i did something wrong or if i missed something! I rebuilt my motor & i have been overheating ever since. My mods are, cobra u/l, 24# injectors,c&l calibrated for 24#, fuel press reg,190 fuel pump,GT40 heads,1.72 rockers, 65mm trotle body, fender wall cold air,mac pullies, edelbrock high flow water pump,3 row radiator, black magic elestric fan,mac equal length headers, mac off road H-pipe,flow master mufflers, ram heavy duty clutch, tremec 3550 trans, my fuel press is set at 27psi, timing is set at 10 degrees, i also have tried a 190,180,& now i have a 160 thermostat & i still run warm. When i sit at a lite it will go up to 190-210, & when im driving it will go down to 175-180 any help would be appreciated!!

Make sure your fan is'nt running backwards first. Then double check that you did'nt route the belt onto the waterpump the wrong way as it is supposed run opposite the crank(reverse rotation). Then get back to us.

that seems like mighty low fuel pressure, you might be running too lean. 190-200 is not too hot for the modern fuel injected engines as they were designed to run in this range.

Yes i double checked. The belt is reverse rotation from the crank and it still overheats. What should I set me fuel press at? Could the after market pullies be causing it? Or the heater core? I looked in the radiator to see if the water was flowing and it is. Any more ideas?

Normal fuel pressure is 35-40 psi for a stock motor. the pullies do slow down the water pump and fan, but speeds above idle they should not be causing the overheating you say you have. I still say you need to put a 180 or 190 degree thermostat in it and get the fuel pressure up some as 190-210 degress is not really that hot for these engines.

did you use the right headgaskets? i know someone who used wrong gaskets, and the car overheated no matter what, after running it for a good ammount of time, and we never found out until the gasket went that it was the wrong one, the right one on and it works great now... just an idea... altho 210 seems a lil average,

is the cooling system building pressure? does the overflow work? does it have water and antifreeze mixxxed.

what is the thermostat temp you have. i had the stock one in there and would run 210+ all the time. and when i drover where it was 100* outside, the engine hit 140*. i just put in a 160* thermostat and the car runs between 175 and 190 all the time

Could also be air lock in the cooling system if you just got the engine put together. I'd definately stick to checking the cooling maybe even changing the fluid, checking the fan, and belts as well.

Thanx for the responses guys! anyway...I will try bumping the fuel press to 35 psi n see how that works. About the gaskets; they are ROL High Temp for GT40 heads. They were both for the passenger side so I called ROL n they said to just flip one over n make sure the part that read "front" was facing front n it would be just as good. Was I misinformed?
As far as the thermostat goes, I have a 160 in there, does it matter if it's a 160,180,190? Thanx again!
