so might not agree and I haven't seen it come up yet. But I had the same problems with mine plus reverse would grind everytime I went into it so I was told to replace the Clutch Quadrant. SO I went and bought the Steeda Clutch Quadrant replaced it and had no problems what so ever going into first, and reverese NEVER grinded after either.


Try it it's worth it finding someone local to sell you a quadrant, I found one for 20 bucks.

ok most t-5 do that stupid notch thing from time to time, try holding the clutch in for about 3 sec. longer before you try to put it in gear... or push the clutch anf them gently push it toward 1st untill it falls in... and yes first had a syncro on the 86 and newer trannys... i rebuild them all the time i would show you a blow apart of the tranny if i could find a good one online
