$125 for a T-5, I guarantee its fukt! A used one, thats in decent shape usually runs from $450 - $750. As for price on a rebuild kit, call Gforce, they have an awesome rebuild kit for the T-5, makes it capable of handling up to 500hp.

do you know anything about rebuilding transmissions???? a simple syncro rebuilt kit is $189 + shipping from http://www.ddperformance.com/t5_parts__upgrades.htm they are the company i get all my tranny parts from when i rebuild trannys for people. if you don't know how to rebuilt it or have never done it before i suggest letting some one else do it. there is more to it than every one thinks

the kits they sell that make it capable of 500hp would be a stock rebuilt kit.... the stock(1986 and newer) world class t-5 is rated at 500 ft. lbs. or torque.. trannys are rated in torque not hp... and yes a good t-5 fomr a junk yard should cost 500-700 ish g-force does offer a kit that allows the t-5 to handle more power but it isn't just a syncro rebuilt that includes needing stronger gears

couldn't find the price on that page, but ford racing makes ok parts... and with a tranny there are so many little tricks and things liek that you'll spend about 1-3 days taking it apart and prolly 5-7 days putting it together, then you'll have to find the specs. for the backlash and then figure out how to set it where as i can take it apart and put it together set backlast etc. in about 1 1/2 hours if i work slowly, the fastest i did one was at a track for a friend 45 min.

I have never seen a stock T-5 rated at 500 ft/lbs of torque. Where was this read at?

wasn't read anywhere... i know a guy that worked for borg worner.. ford rated them at 300 incase they got a weak tranny.... the GM t-5 is actualy rated at less power than the trans am made stock but actualy took 300 ft. lbs if it was lucky the ford t-5 is much stronger than the GM one
