like a plate you put between the valve body in an automatic lets pressure build up more between shifts to firm em up and stay in powerband lil longer

but atm he cant control his shift points, when that shift kit goes in hes going to notice a big diff because in aod, when you stomp it from a dead stop in 1st it shifts at like 5500 but in like 2nd it shifts at like 4k.
oh yeah you can... the 1-D-1 shuffle.......but it gets expensive rebuilding trannies.

as a past aod owner (X2) i say don't bother w/ trans upgrades, just do a lentech w/ a good converter.

shift kit alone feels hard but does not much for et's , you'll see a bigger gain on 4.10's w/ a nice set of cheater slicks.

my opinion.....stay where you are, save up for a t5 swap or lentech, and spray what you have til the aod ***** the bed

well not really...it increases oiling causing quicker shifts, the springs are different tension and cause higher shift points.
to do it right you want an "a" servo , and also drill out some of the oiling holes to get max gain and extended life. an oil cooler is a must for the trans , and better clutch packs (IE redline clutches) aod performance is not cheap.
