Glad to help. And yeah, you're gonna feel a much bigger difference than I felt, but even I noticed it. I think you'll love it when you get them in.

i'm almost to the point of not even coming on this site anymore.

i would have more progress by beating a 16 penny nail in my d!ck

what 5.0 had a conventional axle ? ever ?

3.27 was offered in AOD only and aod's suck so much a$$ they had offer just to not embarass the 5.0 tag

why no more than 3.73 in a manual ? i'm all about 4.10's w/ my 5-speed but if your scared to go fast , then just leave it stock.

stepping up 4-5 full gearsets will feel like about 100 hp and the single best gain you can make dollarwise. unless your an aod, then you'll see the 200 hp you were supposed to start with.

am i being harsh...?

yup , but i speak the truth from experience my 5-speed cars beat my aod cars bone stock when the aod's had 3.73's and the 5-speeds were 2.73. switch to 4.10's and beat the 3.73 aod by 1 full second (actually 1.2 but whos counting ?)

Is it just me or are you making no sense here? I can't tell if you're posting seriously or just rambling!

I posted the Axel code for a conventional differential because it is a possibility. Just because they have a 5.0 in their engine bay, that doesn't mean it came with it. And if someone searches the site in the future (from any section) they will find it.

And you do realize that he doesn't have an AOD tranny, right? There was no AOD tranny for the 1994 or 1995 GT.

Why no more than 3.73 in a manual? because most people find that the gears can be too short when you have a lot of HP. If you choose otherwise, that's fine. But it doesn't mean that everyone, or even the majority, agrees with you. I know I'm not the only person who suggests 3.73s for manual.

Okay, so your 5-speed can beat your automatic stock. What's your point? Are you telling him that something is wrong with his car simply because he has an automatic transmission? Or are you trying to say that automatics aren't fast?

Sorry, but you're not really making much sense here. Not sure why though... You aren;t usualyl posting in this manner, LoL.

I got 4.10's w/5spd, and i like it. I havent drove it yet since the HCI, due to me being broke and cant finish the last small bits and pieces. But it wasnt bad when it was pretty much stock. I drove highway alot too, and the gas mileage wasnt too bad either, and it sure gets up and goes too. But i never drove it with the stock gears, so i cant compare those.
Mostly everyone will recomend 3.73's for a 5spd tho, because 1st gear is pretty short with 4.10's, but its all what you want.

The car comes stock with stock 2.73's I put 3.73's in my car and its big different alot my shifting involved. Before I put these gears in I could drive around all day in 3rd gear I never had to use 4-5 gear thats how ridiculous those stock gears are. You'll have alot my fun with with these kind of gears and you'll feel like you put another 50 horses under the hood!If I were you I would go for it! Best money I ever spent..

I would like to put my name down as somebody who thinks 4.10's are a great idea for a 5-speed.

From what I have seen, a majority of the people who like 4.10s in 5-speeds are those that aren't pushing 400+ HP. (Not all of them, but quite a few.) As you start getting more and mnore HP, those gears feel shorter and shorter. You may be able to shift okay at 250 HP, but when you add 200+ RWHP to that, many times you find yourself having to shift too fast.

I agree... I'm building for the future and the future is over 400hp so 3.73's are the way i'm going, i don't want to have to change my gears later.

I believe the majority of mustangs on the road aren't pushing 400whp and probably won't as long as they are on the road. Which would make the 4.10's more fun. Just an opinion. If he thinks that he will have over 400whp one day then he should go with the numerically lower gear. It does make sense.
