Are the 'rent's paying for the car? insurance? How old is this kid? I know I would never buy my kid a GT. But if he/she paid for it as well as the insurance thats on them. I would just think they would have a greater respect for the car if they did it all themselves rather then a car that was given to them.... I know how I was when I first got my licesnse.

Any used car is going to have it's problem weither it's a civic, mustang, escort.. etc. all used cars have some sort of problems with them. Speed she won't have to worry about either because we all know them stock 94-95 mustangs aren't that fast.

its not his first car he's been driving for a year and wants to get the car
his mom doesn't car about him drving the car her only issue is she thinks they have mechanical problems
the only way hes not going to have to worry about it not breaking very often is if its an SN-95

foxes are literally falling apart on this site

+1 thats what happen when you have a fox box with Hp
Thats some funny stuff right there, kinda like having a blow fly shoved up your nose.

my first car was a ford w/180k miles on it... it has 195k on it now and ive put MAYBE 600 bucks into it over 3 years...

I can tell you a mustang is going to be more reliable than a ford escort... its all in how you treat the car... love it and it wil love you back

It is hard for me to support the idea of any body with a few years of experience behind the wheel of a car. If he does find a decent SN-95 GT, then my guess would be as long as the drivetrain is in good shape, he should be fine with the car. I will stand by what I said earlier and say the it is not safe for somebody in high school to drive a sports car. I drove one and so did many of my friends. 2 of them are dead because of their inexperience and by being behind the wheel of a sports car. I nearly took my own life when I slid my 67 into a tree at over 60 mph. I am a sports car fanatic to the core but too many lessons were learned the hard way and only by the grace of god am I able to sit here and say this.

i can see that but the kids that go to my school dont' need a sports car to drive like an idiot. theres plenty of them running around with there civics and tercels, yes tercels lol and grand prix, grand ams, and f150s' and those 1500s. i'm 17 and i drive stupid somtimes but i pick my places and times. like not in the rain, people are stupid in the rain. But anyway they drive those cars like idiots and pretend ( i guess) that they have sports cars and wreck those, but the 95 gt was and is my first car. and God is definatly been good to me cause i coulda died one night when i had a blowout at 100 mph, so i definalty thank God for being here every time i think about that. and that was a wake up call to trust my gut more. it was tellin me, "no not tonight". lol i didn't listen, luckly i didn't have anybody in the car so it would've only been me i killed. but i thought about that some more to and have since cooled my roll or whatever. i do agree to an extint but i think with a good head on there shoulders they can drive a sports car without wrecking it or hurting someone. you've got to learn sooner or later right.

my first car was also a 1967 mustang a 320 hp 302, and my second car was a 1997 F250 psd with a chip and exhaust, now i have a 1994 gt, i believe as long as you respect the car the car respects you, has the kid been known for doing stupid stuff in cars before? if so than i would say no, but hey stupid stuff is fun in the right place, aka (middle school parking lot at 1am lol) the cops sit there all night now because of me.

A good head will go a long ways keeping somebody out of trouble. Just like you would know though, with your blow out at 100, it only takes one slip or one mistake and there goes the rest of your life. I used to be the type that would run anything that pulled up next to me on the street. Now that I look at it. I was not only putting myself in danger but everybody around me. I just wish that some of these younger guys would listen instead of learning the hard way like we did. It will only lead to fines, jail time, and death. Nothing good comes from it. It is just as bad as using drugs. You get a quick high but the possability of huge consequences. The longer you do it, the more you got to have and the bigger the chance of $hit catching up to you. I hope that this kids mother know him real well. If he is a good driver then I hope he finds him a nice mustang and enjoys himself. These just might be a mothers excuse because she doesn't want to straight up and say she doesn't trust her son.
