Here's one that is rated for 1200 max / 600 RMS and it's 1.2 Farad. So do the math and you see 1 Farad for 500 RMS.

Here's a 2.4 Farad setup for 1000 watts RMS.

Here's another popular one that's Sold at Curcuit City. This one also says 1.2 farad for 1200 peak / 600 RMS. Its the one i use.

There are some systems out there that can stretch it out to a slightly higher number, but nowhere near the number you are saying. And you aren't going to cause any problems by stepping up in a size. Not sure where you got that from.

hey whatever man... doesn't really matter. the fact is im running 1.0 farads on my system and my battery gauge doesn't move.

Tell me about it, LoL. And I must say, if he's really running 1500 RMS on a 1 farad capacitor, well that's the first time I have ever heard of such a thing. Then again, if it works fine for everything "except for two" songs, then I'd venture to say that it's not working fine. That's like me saying that my car only runs lean when I'm at WOT. Well if that's the case, obviously something isn't working.

I'm just oging by what I have seen in my experience. And I have done a LOT of installs and know a lot of installers.

So what's the make and model of your amp and sub?
